Wow! It has been too long since I posted last. August? That is crazy!
Well I am gonna start posting more. So to start, today I am going to the Get in Motion seminar in Calgary. I want to improve my video skills so I can add that to my services. We shall see how it goes. I am very excited!
Cap and Gown portraits is in full swing and week 1 went great. Only had 3 no shows .
December is going to be hectic as I am renovating the new studio space and still running the old. I will be all moved in by January 1. Think Im gonna have a party when its done.
Alberta Sport Shots is crazy busy. I think we only have one weekend in December left open and the bookings for 2012 are rolling in.

New Power Grads coming in the next few days! Get Ready for Power!
Sometimes when you get your hands on some good ones you can convert them to digitals. Here are some of Ron’s(my father in law) Dad. We found them while going through some boxes in the garage.
Amazing how good the quality is on the portraits. I only wish I had that photographer around to tell me stories. They were taken somewhere in Winnipeg.
All I can say is WOW! Rylee has an amazing spirit about her. She has to be one of the easiest people to photograph. Enjoy her self esteem! We all could take a lesson from this young lady.

We are doing 30 minute sessions in studio only that targets your fabulous dress or suit for $157.50+GST.
This marathon will run on Saturday May 21st from 10am until 5pm.
There will be 10 time slots available. Time slots are first come first serve and will go fast.
1 grad per session maximum. Orders must be made within 2 weeks and all images from your session will be posted online at www.mojoproofs.com
You will be notified via email when they are posted for viewing.
Please come at least 5 minutes before your session starts to checkin,
and you must bring your receipt e-mail with you printed out with the barcode,
for verification purposes.
If you are late to your session, you will lose the amount of time you’re late.
So if you book a session from 10:00am – 10:30am, your session ends at
10:30am regardless if you are late to it.
Session fees are strictly non-refundable for any reason.
Please do not sign up for a session unless
you plan on being there. I can’t refund your session if you change your mind,
or have a last-minute cancellation.

OK all you Grads, Families and Wedding Couples. We are gonna do some house cleaning this month and everything from 2010 and back will be going into off site archive. Basically they will be stored at a location other than the studio. If you want to order before this happens do it before the end of the month. I will be charging to get your images from archive if you don’t order before the end of the month.
I have been wanting to do this for a while and now I’m gonna do this every 12 months. This way all of my images are safe and I don’t have so much bulk in the studio storage room.
You can still get your image orders anytime but I will be adding an archive fee if you wait until I have moved them to order.
I have recently had a lot of requests for bridal sessions that resemble my power grad sessions. Today I would like to introduce you to “power brides”. Just like my popular grad sessions power brides is a session that takes place after the ceremony and before the reception. It is a bride and groom only session where I will capture powerful and edgy portraits of you and your bride or groom. These sessions are done the same way as my power grad sessions are done minus the casuals. Book your power bride session now. Prices range from $350-$1150.
Why are the prices low? The simple answer is time. These sessions are quick so you can get back to your celebration. You will be booked for a proof and purchase session when you come back from your honeymoon or sooner if you are not going away. These sessions can be booked for destination weddings as well.

While having breakfast this morning I decided to check out one of my favorite blogs. It is a marketing blog so I will not bore you about that, but there was a link that I thought I would share. It has to do with selling yourself short and spreading yourself too thin.
I am in the photography business because I love it. It is my way to show the world how I see it. My business should allow me to spend lots of time with my family and make enough money to support my lifestyle as well. That’s the point of working for yourself right.
Here is a good example of how not to sell your sessions and a good explanation / breakdown of how pricing of a one hour session works. I charge $150 for a studio or location shoot. You do the math.
What is your hourly wage where you work? Do you get benefits? I Don’t.

Well I do believe this weather break has heightened my spirits a bit. Yesterday I cooked some steaks on the BBQ for the Fam. This is something I have not done since October.
Even though the snow is still in the yard and I had to stand in ice to do it, it was still a refreshing feeling to be outside. Hopefully it holds out for the week like they are saying.
It’s time to get out of the house an do something!
Today was rough mentally. I was busy all day doing catch up work and felt as if I was digging the hole deeper. I think it has to do with the cold weather and being trapped inside all the time.
Well it is warming up a bit and the need to get out is pressing. This weekend I will be in Lethbridge shooting ringette for Alberta Sport Shots. I am going to do a few things different. I want to get some creative action shots. Haven’t done that for a while.
After that, I will join my fellow Kinsmen at the Enmax for a little Hurricanes Hockey action. Hope this weekend turns my head around. I need to get rid of the winter blues…
